2025 Summer Workshops

We are excited to open registration for our Summer 2025 Workshops at Learning Encounters! These workshops are designed specifically for students taking the Middle-Level ISEE or applying for admissions in fall/winter 2025.

Fast Facts:

Different skills are presented each week. The more classes students attend, the more practice they get.

Maximum of 8 students per group.

Workshop fee: 

$350 for each 4-day class.

$325 per class for for 4-6 classes

$300 per class for 8 or more classes

Students are welcome to join us for a full day: 9:30-2:30 (bring lunch)

Summer Writing Workshops

Workshop Description

Designed and taught by our Learning Encounters core educators, this workshop has been specifically developed to support students in creating personal responses for their timed writing assessments and fall language arts classes. Our lessons will focus on crafting rich, engaging narratives that reflect each author's unique viewpoint and strengths.

Maximum of 8 students per group.

Admissions Preparation

Designed with the Los Angeles middle and high school timed writing assessments in mind, our admissions experts developed our classes to address the specific needs of students applying to private and independent schools.

Getting Ready for the ISEE: Verbal Reasoning and Reading Comprehension

Workshop Description

This workshop introduces students to the Verbal Reasoning and Reading Comprehension sections of the Middle-Level ISEE exam. Using specific strategies, teachers provide experience with the vocabulary, sentence completions, and reading comprehension passages, with timing and format that directly relate to the exam pacing and standards.

Maximum of 8 students per group.

This workshop directly addresses the verbal reasoning and reading comprehension portions of the Middle-Level ISEE exam.

Workshop Description

This workshop introduces students to the Quantitative Reasoning and Mathematics Achievement sections of the Middle-Level ISEE exam. Using specific strategies, teachers provide experience with math concepts and quantitative comparisons that reflect the timing and format of the exam.

This workshop directly addresses the quantitative reasoning and mathematics achievement portions of the Middle-Level ISEE exam.
